Five Good Things About Judaism

9 Sep

Happy New Year to my Jewish Peeps!   (Sorry I didn’t get this up before sundown: good intentions, bad time management.)

1.) The concept of mitzvah involves even the youngest children in doing good for others, in both long-term/planned and short-term/spontaneous ways.

2.) There is a strong sense of responsibility and respect toward family and education.

3.) Matzoh ball soup exists within its dietary guidelines.  Broth-based panacea.

4.) Even this Protestant Girl knows that Purim is a fantastic holiday that everyone can enjoy!

5.) The focus is directly relevant to its people.  There is an emphasis on one’s direct relationship with God and also with one’s fellow people.  I believe the religion is internal and personal.
